Spring break of my junior year in college was spent with 17 of my classmates and one fearless instructor in two vans driving across the backroads of the American West. We spent the week traveling through five states, documenting our experiences and findings through photography. And we only got stuck in the mud in the middle of nowhere once. My final project was a pair of handbound books of my own digital photos, polaroids, and journal entries, with a new section marking each day of the trip. The books are 96 pages bound in a bookcloth that reflects the color of the landscapes we traveled through. They are finished with a screenprinted cover that traces our route and a title on the spine.
